PROF. KAUKO LAAJOKI´S VISIT TO THE UNIVERSITY OF G. D´ANNUNZIO, CHIETI, PESCARA, ITALY.
MAY 10 - 24. 1998. Course theme: PROTEROZOIC STRATIGRAPHY AND SEDIMENTOLOGY IN THE LIGTH OF SOME CASE HISTORIES FROM FINLAND, NORWAY AND USA.
Main purpose of the course: Give a brief summary of some
important early - middle - late Proterozoic supracrustal basins
and encourage students to study sedimentary rocks of ancient fold
belts. Sructure of the course: - lectures based on literature and Kauko Laajoki´s personal field studies,
- practicals based on Kauko Laajoki´s personal slide collection
May 12 - Tuesday 9:00 - 10:30 LECTURE 1. Introduction to the main problem in Proterozoic exogenic geology.
